The Business Life Center (TBLC) is in Mathews County, Virginia. An outstanding rural community in the Tidewater Region of Virginia. The population is under served with respect to access to life skill, career and business development resources. The Business Life Center provides seminars, workshops and technical assistance to individuals and businesses in the area at no or below market costs. The services include life skills and career development and mentoring, business development, and leadership training.
The purpose of TBLC is:
- to provide a therapeutic mentoring/student advocacy and career development program to local area students;
- to provide facilities and equipment to individuals and businesses who desire to start and/or grow their business. This service also includes access to resources, as well as to "The Think Spot", a synergy session with local area business owners and professionals who can provide insight and advise on various aspects of starting and operating a successful business;
- to conduct seminars and workshops on a wide variety of business, as well as personal development topics to the community i.e, leadership development, vision and goal planning;
- to sponsor, host and/or participate in events and activities that promote personal, professional and business development;
- to provide technical assistance in the areas of business start-up
